Sofa, car, armchairs, path: ten ways to set up a play sofa

A modular play couch earns its space on the days it becomes something else. Here are ten shapes our ten pieces make, from the everyday to the rainy Sunday.
Loaf's pieces, for reference:
- four bases, 60 × 60 × 10 cm
- two backrests
- two armrests
- two round cushions, 30 cm across
the everyday.
- The sofa. All ten pieces in two layers: bases below, backrests and armrests on top, round cushions on the seat. How it lives most days.
- The low bench. Two bases side by side, one backrest. A reading spot by the window.
- Two armchairs. Split the sofa down the middle. One each, for siblings, playdates, or one child and a very important teddy.
the builds.
- The car. Four bases for the body, backrests for the sides, a bolster at the front and back, and the two round cushions for wheels. The one they build first.
- The fort. Backrests and armrests stood around a base, a sheet over the top.
- The stepping path. Every piece on the floor in a line, a path to follow from the sofa to the balcony door.
- The stage. Four bases in a square. Somewhere to perform, with the grown ups on the real sofa as audience.
the quiet ones.
- The nest. Bases in an L against the wall, cushions in the corner. For books and winding down.
- The table. One base on top of another, a round cushion to sit on. Snacks and colouring at child height.
- Back to a sofa. The best build is the one that tidies itself. Stacking back takes about a minute.
If you set Loaf on a Tumble playmat, the builds have a soft floor around them too.
